Refund policy

A Pro import is $500, once, for one import into one QuickBooks company. If it does not do what you needed, undo it and the money comes back — automatically, with nobody to email.

The guarantee

Within 30 days of paying for a Pro import, open that import, choose Revert and refund, and confirm. QIF Importer Pro (dev) removes from QuickBooks everything the import created. When every transaction it created is gone, the $500 is refunded to the card that paid for it.

The refund is issued by the software, not by a person. There is no form to fill in and no support queue to wait behind. It usually reaches the card within five to ten business days, which is the card network’s timing rather than ours.

What reverting removes, and what it does not

  • Every transaction the import created is deleted from the QuickBooks company. That is the condition of the refund: if QuickBooks refuses to delete one — a closed accounting period, for instance — the revert reports it and the refund is not issued until it is resolved.
  • Accounts, contacts and classes the import created are made inactive. QuickBooks does not delete names, so inactive is as far as it goes. One that QuickBooks refuses to deactivate — because something else now posts to it — is left as it is and listed for you. That does not block the refund: those records hold no money.
  • Nothing the import did not create is touched. Where the import matched a record your company already had, that record is yours and is left alone.
  • Edits you made in QuickBooks to the created transactions are lost when those transactions are deleted.

Reverting without a refund

Revert this import is the other option, and it is available at any time, with or without a purchase. It deletes the transactions but leaves the accounts, contacts and classes in place, so you can fix a mapping and import the same file again — landing on those accounts rather than creating a second set. Your Pro import is not spent by it, and there is nothing to buy again.

What is not refundable

  • A Pro import more than 30 days after payment. The revert still works; the refund does not follow it.
  • A Pro import that has already been refunded. Each purchase is refundable once.
  • Pro Plus is a subscription, not a purchase. Cancel it and it runs to the end of the period you have paid for, then stops; past periods are not refunded. Cancel from the billing page.
  • A licence granted by us rather than bought — Partner pricing — has no payment to refund.

The free tier

Importing the last eight months of a register is free and always will be, so you can see exactly what QIF Importer Pro (dev) would do to your books before paying for anything. A free import can be reverted too.

If something goes wrong

If a revert cannot finish, or a refund does not arrive, the import’s own page says so and what it is waiting on — the software keeps retrying a refund it could not issue. If you are still stuck, write to support@tompkinsrnd.com and we will settle it by hand.
